Bangkok was for us the opportunity to give importance to the small but so essential things of life.
During our life, we forgot that we are humans with the mission to contribute to the evolution of the world, that it means to be fully aware of what we are doing on this planet. Why we are here.
We spent most of the time with the sensation to be lost, chasing something apparently untouchable: happiness. False believing that happiness is a state we could have earned by own external things.
During this period of the world’s lock-down, one thing is obvious: human beings, in some way, are alone with themselves. And they are trying to find any solution to not feel their loneliness. To feel it (the loneliness), it would mean questioning the past, with the sensation to have been in a movie. Indeed, for us, this is the perception: to have let our life be conducted by external circumstances.
Of course, many events put us in the direction of self-observation, but, in general, we weren’t living our experience of life authentically. And so, most of the time, all the fears and doubts we experimented with were unreal, and they were there just to remember us to take courage to go toward our project of life. The difficulty of doing this is because we, as people connected to other people, are afraid to betray the image that the other has of us. In addition to what we have created ourselves, and so, we prefer to not expose ourselves to this risk, because we don’t want to lose love. Perhaps, a day will come when we will understand that even this fear (losing love) is totally imaginary, it is unreal, but it produces concrete effects, and so it distances us more and more from our self, from the deepest and purest part of us themselves.
By growing in a contest in which the main slogan was “work hard,” it was not instant to gave us the change to enjoy life. But, in Bangkok, for a reason, we don’t precisely know, happened.
Well, actually, now it is easier to see what helped us making a change, even if it was particular that change happened in Bangkok, a so busy and frantic city, instead of in the middle of the jungle.
Perhaps, the reason is precisely for this different scenario to which we have been subjected in so few hours, just the time of an airplane flight of a few hours. When we were in Bali, we loved Nature there, and we enjoyed the connection with It, even if our attention was too much focused on “how to do more,” yet. Then, after we are landed in Bangkok, the first sensation was to be on a new planet. People with masks, traffic, grey and so tall buildings, big streets, condominiums that seam cages, cats that jump from roof to roof, and also some snakes that fall from the tree of a city park. This new world, for some reason, let us slow very down.
We spent a few days in the new part of the city, and then we moved in the old part, where we experimented with our first Thai massage. The hostel we booked was in an intimate street and very closed to a beautiful park, where we used to go to eat our lunch and to see the river. For the month we stayed there, we enjoyed these little things: to eat at the park, to drink our coffee by walking on the street, to go to the street market, to read, to write, to sleep, to play. And we welcomed the confusion that naturally rises in us, instead of trying to suffocate it with something to do. And this was an excellent opportunity to start to not label any emotions or sensations we experimented with as good or bad. Because if we allow ourselves to be confused, for example, and to feel this sensation, we discover that there isn’t anything wrong with that. And if we contact the feeling that there is, we can find new parts of ourselves, to listen to them and to choose to do what makes us feel good.
In that little and cozy hostel’s room (in this video you can see a bit of our month in Bangkok) we wrote our song Bangkok, that is our praise to the small things of life that hide powerful teaching behind their simplicity.

“Have you ever try to enjoy life and live it in its magical simplicity?“
Thanks for reading us! 🙏🏽
Ehi! Giulia & Alberto here. 👋🏼
We decided to write articles that are connected to our music to let you go deep inside some of the adventures we live and that inspire our songs.
It won't be a space to explain songs. A song couldn't be explained but just listened with the hearth and with an open mind.
Indeed, this Blog session is a way to create another connection with you by offering you the perspective from which we experience things. The invite is to not judge this with "right-wrong", "good-bad", "beautiful-horrible". Actually, the invite is not to judge at all, if it is possible.
If you can, it would be lovely if you try to read them with openness and check what kind of reflections and feelings they create in you.
And then, if you will want to share with us your sensations, you are welcome to leave us a comment. 😊
